What this is

A Mexican nonprofit Spanish school in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo, pairing language classes with Maya cultural immersion - cenote visits, a cooking class with a local family, jungle bike tours, kayaking, day trips to Chacchoben and Bacalar or Cobá and Tulum, and exchanges with local students, depending on the school calendar and availability.

Families spend six nights with a local homestay family, sharing three meals a day (lunch on the full-day trips to Bacalar and Tulum is on your own), and attend 12 hours of group Spanish classes per week per learner. Airport transfers from Tulum and a bilingual guide on every excursion are included. The program runs year-round on Sunday-to-Saturday weeks, with package rates from $3,325 for a family of three. Minimum age is 8. Na'atik Language & Culture Institute is a US 501(c)(3) operating since 2010.
