What this is

A worldschooling community that sets up full-day family programs in a few favorite bases — the Bulgarian mountain town of Bansko, Playa del Carmen on Mexico's Caribbean coast, and the Netherlands.

Bansko is the long-running winter hub, with six-week sessions from January into early April: skiing with friends, hot springs, Bulgarian language and culture, and arts, with families in private apartments in a community complex. Playa del Carmen runs a month-long autumn session with Spanish, Mexican cooking, Mayan culture, and a drop-off option. The Netherlands program spends three late-autumn weeks in the Sinterklaas season, with windmills, castles, and Amsterdam.

Best fit for families who want a full program for the kids and a built-in community for a month or more.
