Valencia Forest School
British-Scandinavian forest school with short-term program for worldschooling and traveling families ages 3–12 near Valencia
What this is
A British and Scandinavian-style forest school near Valencia, Spain, built specifically for families who are passing through. Run by Laura Martín and Alison White, the school operates year-round from September through July and welcomes children ages 3–12 on a drop-in weekly basis at €47 per day. That flexibility is rare — most programs require multi-week commitments.
Sessions alternate between two locations: Parque de Cabecera in Valencia city and a wilder site in Llíria, about 30 minutes northwest. Kids spend the day outdoors — climbing, building, exploring nature, getting properly muddy. The pedagogy draws on forest school principles: child-led, sensory-rich, minimal screens, maximum dirt. Valencia Forest School is a registered business in the Comunitat Valenciana tourism registry, so it's not a pop-up.
Valencia itself is one of the easiest cities in Spain for families — walkable, affordable, great food, and a direct train from the airport to the city center. If you're spending a few weeks in the area and need your kids to have something structured and joyful to do during the day, this is one of the best options on the Mediterranean coast.
