What this is
A tent-based sleepaway camp on the Sea of Japan coast in Hokkaido, where kids ages 6 to 18 trade home routines for ocean kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and meals cooked on charcoal grills.
Six-day sessions run Saturday to Friday, week after week, from mid-June through late August. Campers share tents with their coursemates, eat fresh Hokkaido produce, fish, and meats, and range across the coastline and Niseko-Shakotan National Park. All courses run in English.
A turn-key choice for parents who want their kids unplugged and outdoors for a week between Hokkaido's coastline and the Niseko-Shakotan wilderness.
