What this is

A two-week Spanish immersion camp for teens that unfolds across two settings: a week at Intercultura's city campus in Heredia, then a week at its beach campus in Playa Sámara, Costa Rica.

The 2027 session runs July 11 to 25 for ages 13 to 17 and costs $3,650. Small-group Spanish classes anchor each day, alongside leadership training, volunteer work and adventure activities. The exploration reaches well beyond campus: two weekend trips are included, to places like a national park, a rainforest or a cloud forest, with the 2027 destinations still being set.

In Heredia, teens live with Costa Rican host families; in Sámara, accommodations are still being decided between a homestay and a hotel. Intercultura has run the Teen Spanish Summer Camp since 2003.

Best fit for teens ready to step outside their comfort zone, with academics, travel, adventure and a new circle of friends woven into one summer.
