Mountain camping adventures for kids from Chamonix's professional guide association
Alpine French School
French language immersion paired with Alpine outdoor adventures — day and family formats
What this is
A French language immersion school with 10+ years of experience, now offering summer adventure camps in two stunning Alpine locations. Alpine French School combines language learning — approximately 50% of each day — with outdoor adventures like hiking, rafting, climbing, and aquatic sports. The school offers both child-only day camps and family-format sessions, with half-day and full-day options. Parents can even take French lessons while kids are in camp.
Ages 5–17. Pricing ranges from €380–815 per week depending on location, duration, and whether you add family or parent programming. Geneva is the primary airport for both locations.
Chamonix is one of the world's most iconic mountain towns — dramatic, sophisticated, and genuinely beautiful. The combination of French language immersion with adventure sports makes this location ideal for families who want kids to gain conversational French while building confidence outdoors. The town has excellent restaurants and plenty of places for parents to settle in while kids are learning.
Morzine: A ski resort town in the Portes du Soleil region, about 90 minutes from Geneva. Morzine is slightly quieter and more family-oriented than Chamonix, with excellent hiking, mountain biking, and water sports. The town has a strong international community and is popular with families who want a less touristy alternative to Chamonix. Accommodation is generally easier to find and more affordable.
