What this is

A digital-detox, nature-immersion sleepaway camp in the heart of Slovenia, in the foothills of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and Pohorje Mountains. Explorer Camps runs week-long and multi-week residential sessions for ages 6–17, welcoming 40+ nationalities and creating a genuinely international community.

The program is deliberately screen-free and nature-focused: 50+ different outdoor activities throughout the session including rafting, hiking, orienteering, survival skills, and team challenges. The emphasis is on building confidence, independence, and connection — both with peers and with the natural world.

Velenje, Slovenia is one of Europe's safest and sunniest locations, tucked into a green valley with stunning mountain scenery. The region is less touristy than the Alps or Croatian coast, which means more authentic, fewer crowds, and a genuine sense of adventure. Ljubljana airport is about 90 minutes away, with good connections to central Europe. Week-long sessions run €830–2,870 depending on duration (1–3 weeks available). This is a serious immersion experience — ideal for kids ready to step into independence and outdoor challenge.
